Set Up Billing by Role and Task

In addition to setting up a base rate at which different roles are billed, you can use the Set Up Billing By Role and Task screen to set different billing rates for individual tasks within any selected role.

All other tasks performed by staff members in that role is billed at the rate set up for that role in the Setup Roles/Billing screen.

To set a specific rate for an individual task within a role:

1.  Select Billing By Role and Task from the Setup menu to open the Set Up Billing By Role and Task screen.

2.  Select a role from the drop-down list in the Role field.

The list displays all of the roles you have defined in the system. Once you select a role, a list of all of the tasks associated with the specified role appears. Columns identify the Task name and code, and the Rate assigned to the task.

Note: All of the tasks and rates you specify in this screen apply only to the active role.

3.  Select the task to which to apply a special rate, or click Add Task and Rate to add a task to the role and apply a special rate to it.

The Set Up Task and Rate dialog appears.

4.  Select the task to add to the role or edit from the drop-down list in the Task field.

Note: You can select a task and click Delete to remove it from the list.

5.  Enter a rate for the selected task in the Rate field.

6.  Click Save.

The task and rate you specified are added to the list for the active role. Time charged to this task for staff members in this role is billed at the specified rate.
