Create Invoices in Accounting Power

Integration between Practice Relief and AccountantsWorld's Accounting Power solution allows you to create invoices in Accounting Power using the client and information entered in Practice Relief if you have set up your firm as a client in Accounting Power.

You can create invoices in Accounting Power using information in the Invoice from Tasks screen or the Invoice from Retainer screen:

§        Invoice from Tasks: This screen displays information about the tasks and expenses to be billed, including the date, the type, the staff member, the code and description of the task or expense, the number of billable hours, the rate, and the billable amount.

§        Invoice from Retainers: This screen displays information about all unbilled retainers for all clients, including the next invoice date, the client name, a description of the retainer, and the amount to be billed.

To create an invoice in Accounting Power:

1.  Select Invoice from Retainer or Invoice from Tasks from the Billing menu.

The requested screen appears, displaying a list of all unbilled tasks, expenses, or retainers.

2.  Indicate the end-date of the period billed in the invoice in the Date Up To field.

This field indicates the closing date of the period billed. By default, the field displays the current date, but you can click the field to select a different date from the calendar.

3.  Click Select.

The dialog displays only those unbilled items from before the closing date.

4.  Select a line item to view or edit details for any item listed.

5.  Click the check box in the Select column for the items to include on the invoice you are transferring.

Note: You can use the Select All and Clear All buttons at the top of the Select column to create invoices for all outstanding items, or to clear all of your selections.

6.  Select the Enable the Invoice To Be Created in Accounting Power option, using the client and information reflected here.

This option is available only if you have set up your own firm as a client in Accounting Power.

7.  Click Create Invoice to generate invoices for the selected items.

The invoice is created in Accounting Power.

If a client or task on the invoice does not match one created in Accounting Power, a new client or task is created. However, if an expense selected for the invoice does not match an existing expense account for the Firm Client in Accounting Power, the invoice is not created. If the expense is matched to an existing expense account for the Firm Client, that expense is used.

When the invoice has been successfully created, Practice Relief displays the Accounting Power invoice number.
